Berry Road Food Co-op is a not-for-profit grocery store located at 150 Berry Road, Etobicoke, Ontario, and needs final funds to open its doors. BRFC’s mission is to provide access to healthy, local and sustainable food to Etobicoke’s diverse residents in a way that balances the interest of shoppers, local food producers, workers and community partners.

Kid and youth programming will be offered to engage young members in healthy food practices. The store will also sell fresh and convenient “take away” meals and host food education classes like cooking, canning and food preservation.

BRFC is organized by dedicated volunteer board members who are committed to improving the community and their home. But we can’t do it on our own. As a not-for-profit start-up organization, we need community donations to help breathe life into the Berry Road Food Co-op. With a 8,727 sq.ft. retail space already secured at The Shoppes at Stonegate, we are nearing the finish line.

Funding for BRFC is nearing completion with more than $1 million secured, which will be going towards future rent subsidy and completion of interior space. Our FundRazr goal is to raise $50,000.* These funds will go a long way to cover start-up operating costs including training, initial stock, point-of-sale customization, in-store marketing, and to ensure that salary costs are securely backed for our first few months of operation.
