African Grassroot Hoops (AGH) is a basketball development NPC, that grows young leaders by providing programs and opportunities to support young people, from the age of 14 to 25 years, in developing a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and empowerment through BASKETBALL.This June, AGH will be hosting its annual Youth Day Classic Basketball Tournament, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Youth Day is a significant day in the South Africa calendar. It’s celebrated annually on June 16, to commemorate the student uprising of 1976. In celebration of positive youth activism, AGH uses the tournament as our climatic event, to bring together youth from within and without South Africa, in our mission to use Basketball to promote skill, dedication and discipline, to sharpen a vision for the future, not just of Basketball, but for what the players can become.
This tournament is a unique opportunity to support grassroot sports, to empower youth from disadvantaged communities in South Africa. We invite you, to partner with us not only to make this event an amazing success, but to also to fortify AGH’s capacity to continue to support its participants endeavors, to manifest their dreams.
The costs of hosting a tournament of this magnitude exceeds AGH’s resources, and we really appreciate your contribution towards this crowdfunding initiative.
