A Dream Born in Fire

Since childhood, I have felt an irresistible pull toward the mountains. While other boys were passionate about soccer or racing on bikes, I was captivated by stories of volcanoes. In one of the old books I found in the library, I saw an image of the majestic Teide Volcano on the Canary Islands. The black lava fields, solidified magma, and clouds enveloping its summit reminded me of scenes from movies about explorers of uncharted worlds.

For hours, I studied maps, imagining the day I would climb this volcano, breathe in the thin air at its heights, and watch as the first rays of the sun painted its summit.

While my friends played video games, I searched the internet for articles about ascents on Teide, read mountaineers' stories, and pictured myself among them. One day, I made a promise to myself: "I will definitely climb this volcano."

Years passed, but my dream never faded. I got into sports, started learning the basics of mountaineering, and considered other volcanoes, but Teide always remained special. After all, it was the first dream that ignited my passion for the mountains.

And now, with experience in conquering peaks, I realize—the moment has come. Teide is waiting. And I know that very soon, I will take the first step toward a dream born in my childhood.
