Todd Ferguson hasn't added a story.
38-year-old Corey Menafee is a father of two and (now former)
cafeteria worker at Calhoun College, which is named
after slavery advocate and former U.S. Vice-President John C.
Calhoun. Every day, Corey would come to work and have to see
pro-slavery artwork and imagery throughout the campus.
Then one day he decided enough was enough and smashed out a
racist pro-slavery stained glass window depicting slaves picking
cotton.
“I took a broomstick, and it was kind of high, and I climbed
up and reached up and broke it,” Corey said. “It’s 2016, I
shouldn’t have to come to work and see things like that.”
“I just said, ‘That thing’s coming down today. I’m tired of
it,’” he added. “I put myself in a position to do it, and did it.”
Now Corey has been fired from his job and faces
misdemeanor & felony charges!
No one should be subjected to horrific images of slavery and
genocide against their own people as a condition of employment. If
the college was unwilling to do the right thing and remove
pro-slavery propaganda from the campus, they left Corey with no
choice but to do what he did. Corey should be applauded for his
direct action, not fired and criminally-charged!

all charges against Corey be dropped.
We're asking you to stand with Corey and donate to this
campaign so he can pay for proper legal defence and mitigate the
loss of his job.
