Tim’s Story:
Not long ago, we received a call from a local shelter about a bonded pair - an extremely underweight female, and a larger male with 2 ruptured eyes. They were found locked inside of an abandoned home with zero food, zero water, zero way to escape, and worst of all, the body of a third dog who succumbed to starvation before they were found.
Due to their extreme health conditions, and without the staff or
funding to give them the care they so desperately needed, the shelter
had them set for euthanasia. Lucky for all, the shelter director gave
them one last chance and called us to help. Through the tremendous
gift of a foster family offering them a temporary home, we were able
to say YES!
We decided to name them Faith and Tim. These two were clearly in
love and very dependent on each other. Tim's condition left him
completely blind, and in constant and ongoing pain. He depended on
Faith for comfort and guidance, just as much as she depended on him
for courage and strength.
As you can see from our video, Faith and Tim are now thriving in
their foster home! They love to play in the yard with their foster
sister, Lulu, and are both building up their trust and faith in us
humans again. Their foster dad sends us regular updates of his couch
snuggle sessions and back yard wrestling games with these two
goofballs. Faith is starting to put on some weight, and very soon,
she’ll be ready for a real forever home that will love her forever.
Tim on the other hand is in desperate need of eye surgery before
he can start his forever search. Although we tried to save both of his
eyes, the condition is too severe, and both have to be removed. We are
trying to raise $1000 for his surgery so that he can begin his journey
to health, and take the first steps into his new life! He is adjusting
very well to losing his vision, and we – along with Faith - are so
excited to watch him continue learn to rely on his other senses.
