On July 10th, 2014 a tornado ripped the roof off of the barn at our Courtland location. There were ten rescue horses and 4 boarders at the barn when the roof was blown off by a tornado. Thankfully all of the horses were unharmed and the volunteers were not there at the time.
The horses have been moved to a safe location but we are now struggling to fit the additional horses into our already full barns. We desperately need to build run in sheds and new pastures at the farm in Kenbridge and run in sheds at Hunter's Hollow in Southampton County. All together we are need to build a minimum of 5 run in sheds and put up 6000 feet of fencing. ASPCA Equine Fund has graciously offered us a $5000 Matching Funds Grant for the run in sheds and fencing. The catch is that we have to raise the entire $5000 in 90 days or less in order to get a penny of the matching funds.
