Help Support Amanda’s Fight for Her Health
Amanda is a local mom to two beautiful little girls, ages 3 and 6. At just 36, she has already faced more health challenges than most people can imagine: type 1 diabetes, Sjögren’s disease, and a possible lupus diagnosis. Now, she is facing a frightening new concern—a thyroid nodule highly suspicious for cancer.
Recent imaging found an irregular thyroid nodule rated TI-RADS 5, with features that require a biopsy. Her biopsy is scheduled for September 8. After speaking with a surgeon at the Russell Center for Endocrine Health, Amanda is planning to have her thyroid removed because of multiple nodules and the risk involved.
Without insurance, the estimated cost for surgery and related care is just under $15,000 USD—before considering travel, recovery time, ongoing medical needs, and the everyday costs of caring for two young children.
