Who We Are:
PHLAFF is where Latine storytelling comes alive. We’re more
than a film festival—we’re a movement. We spotlight the boldest
and most vibrant voices in Latine/x/a/o film, multimedia, and art,
building bridges between cultures and sparking conversations that matter.
Mission Statement:
The Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival (PHLAFF) is
committed to uplifting emerging and established Latine/x/a/o
creatives and filmmakers by showcasing the richness, complexity,
and cultural breadth of our communities. Through a year-round
constellation of programs, PHLAFF advances cross-cultural
dialogue, fosters inclusive storytelling, and contributes to a
more equitable cultural landscape.
Our Purpose:
PHLAFF exists for us—by us. We’re a cultural home for
Latine/x/a/o creatives and audiences to share stories, connect
across generations, and dream new futures together. Our mission is
to celebrate our shared heritage while creating opportunities for
artists to thrive and communities to unite through the power of
film, food, music, and more.
Our Impact, Together:
Over 13 years, we’ve presented nearly 900 films and welcomed
over 25,000 people to join in our celebration. From block parties
to premieres, kitchen tables to university stages, PHLAFF is where
our stories find their audience. With your support, we’ve built a
community of over 300 volunteers and made our mark across 25+
venues—and we’re just getting started.
