Sweet 70 yr old woman had to leave her grandson’s apartment as he would be evicted as she has a bully breed (a 9 yr old, 90 lb blue pit named G that thinks he is a lap dog!); her son’s wife won’t let her live in a spare bedroom even with the dog in a room with the door closed and often in a crate as the daughter in law Is afraid of the dog. He barks at new people is all but is not dangerous :(
She is looking for an apartment or mobile home to rent (no more than
$1100/mo as has to pay utilities) or even to purchase a foreclosed
Habitat for Humanity home. In the meantime, she is going to have to
live in her car as her friends that were going to let her stay on
their porch for $200/mo say she can’t now as the neighbors are afraid
of her dog :(
This woman could easily just dump the dog at the county shelter
(and he may not make it out as would be reactive and they would take
that as aggressive) but she LOVES HER DOGS (she also has a 15 yr old
poodle named Angel who is the pit’s best friend!) & she won’t give
them up for anyone so will live in her car with them until she finds a
place to live with them & keep them!!! THIS is a person I pray we
can help as she didn’t call to surrender her dog but to ask how she
could keep him!
If someone even has a garage they could stay in temporarily that would be amazing! Or even a tent or camper in their yard?! If you know of a cheap travel trailer, we know of an RV park in N Ft Myers for $700/mo lot rent that she could stay at with her dog. Open to any option at this point!!! Hotels that accept big dogs are so expensive as it is spring break but maybe just a short term we could help with that (but don’t think she won’t allow it if expensive as she said as that $ could help save animals). She has a good heart. If you can rent a room to her even, she keeps to herself and will comply with your schedule or house rules etc.
I cannot just abandon her…worse case she can park her car under my big oak tree in my front yard but I will feel horrible sleeping in a bed just feet away with her in a car 😥 I have 4 big dogs and 2 that are reactive so cannot have them in my house as no spare room :(
