Meet Donavan. This adorable dude was surrendered to the shelter because he is blind, and his owners didn’t want to “deal with that”. Once we caught word, we just couldn’t say no! Because of his vision loss, Donavan’s primary way of navigating around is his ears. He listens very intently for footsteps, or echoes, or anything that might tell him where he is and how to navigate his surroundings. Well, this week that ability took a bad turn. Donavan has suddenly developed a very large and painful ear hematoma. This is causing him to tilt his head constantly, and be very disoriented. The good news is that we can correct this with a relatively minor surgery! We are currently trying to raise the $500 that it will take to fix Donavan’s ear for good, and to get him back to his usual playful self! If you are able to donate to his care, every dollar counts!
