RedLoveministries hasn't added a story.
Hello,
my name is Frantz Lajuenesse
And I'm one of the
founders of RedLove Ministries.
What is RedLove Ministries?
RedLove Ministries is non-profit, Christ centered ministry serving
brothers and sisters in Florida and Haiti.
We base this ministry
from the words of Jesus found in Matthew chapter 25 versus
35-40
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was
thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you
invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and
you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit
me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we
see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to
drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing
clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and
go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you,
whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of
mine, you did for me.’
What did Jesus mean when he said these
things? To RedLove Ministries, we feel that he spoke directly to us,
to serve our brothers and sisters around us. That is why we have
chosen to serve in Jacmel, Haiti.
When we think of Haiti some
may think of a third world country far, far away. This is far from the
truth. Haiti is actually less than a 2 hour flight from Miami to port
au prince. Haiti is practically our next door neighbor.
We feel
that this puts an obligation in our hearts to serve our brothers and
sisters, those who are thirsty, hungry, homeless, and without many
other needed necessities of life.
Just 2 hours away is our
family. Many are homeless, many are without the needed nutrition, and
water, and many just barely survive with what they can scrape
up.
We are blessed to have your attention with these very
important matters concerning our brothers and sisters in Haiti. What
we are hoping to accomplish here is to get your full attention, we
want you to fully understand what is needed.
When we were in
Haiti, we saw so much disaster that it didn’t really seem real at
first. After seeing so many homes in rubble, and so much trash in the
streets, we were not sure if it was a movie or if we were actually
witnessing real life. We really hard a hard time understanding
everything that was going on. So many things around us, people begging
for money, children selling food to provide for their families, and
people starring at the ground in a way of hopelessness.
The way
of life in Haiti is not like it is here in America. Most children do
not attend school like ours do. There is public education and the
government is trying to make improvements but it just is not enough.
If there is not public education in a town then children have to pay
for their education and this is a big expense for their parents. Most
parents work multiple jobs just to provide for their families. For us
here in America, the necessities of life are affordable.
For
Haitians, it costs them everything. Everything that they do is about
survival. They try their best to succeed but it can take a person
their whole life just to get out of poverty. Most people will not even
reap what they have sown. What we are talking about is not a
retirement plan, a 401k, stock options, life insurance, a mortgage, a
vacation home or even a second car. We are talking about people
stuggling day in and day out just to put a roof over their
head.
When we visited a church without walls, just a tarp over
their heads, they were so happy that we feed them rice and
beans.
Kyle and I with the rest of our team have been working
hard to make an impact in a place full of disaster, fear, brokenness,
and overwhelming despair. To those of you who contributed to our
mission trip in May, we don’t know how to say thank you enough. It
really made an important impact in our lives and gave us a complete
understanding of what God wants us to do. I started a fundraising
campaign for Building a school in the mountain of Jacmel Haiti and
if you are compelling to contribute to our project please make your
donation here or visit our official website for more information.
