Highlander Robotics (Team 8033) was founded in 2019 to give Bay Area students hands-on access to engineering through competitive robotics. Our 60 students from 11 high schools lead projects that empower youth, promote gender equity in STEM, and build a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Each year, we design and build a robot in just 7 weeks, and then compete.  We've reached the First Robotics Challenge World Championships every year for the past 4 years. Beyond competitions, we give back to our community by running workshops for Girl Scouts, adapting learning tools for OUSD special needs students, and supporting local robotics events.

We’re raising funds to expand our impact: to cover robot parts, tools, competition travel, and to maintain our practice field in Oakland — a hub where Bay Area teams collaborate and innovate.
