If you have met me already, you know that I am an ex-breeding rabbit and I am called Mr Buttons. I am famous for my Button Boots which Helicopter Ears made especially for my sore feet - I am so big and heavy that plasters and bandages simply didn't stay on. I am not sure whether it is because I am arthritic or spent too long in a tiny breeder's cage that my hind legs are not too good. My boots help me have good grip on all surfaces. I love my boots so much, they allow me to go wherever I want without getting my feet all raw and bloody like they were. What's even better, my feet have started to heal.

I arrived so sad and became so happy at Helicopter Ears! But time has come for a big op. I am really not looking forward to my surgery this Tuesday the 14 of April and humans are worried too. When I arrived to Helicopter Ears, my tooth was oozing pus and the vet had to take it out. It was several days before I was back to normal. I am just not too good with anaesthesia and pain. Tomorrow, I will be having my bits castrated and my abscess all removed - so I will come back with pain on my back and on my front. But all these things need to be done and I'd rather be anaesthetised just once, even if it means having two pains to deal with after. Humans will be picking me up with some tummy medications and staying up at all hours to give them to me on schedule. It will be a difficult time for the humans too because they are also nebulising three other bunnies with Manuka honey for their noses and lungs, with Roy having antibiotics in his nebuliser - many schedules to maintain and bunnies to get back on their paws.
But I am looking forward to getting back on my paws most of all the bunnies because I have been promised new shoes. Humans said that these shoes will be special - more beautiful and durable than I could have imagined and that in them I will be able to buzz around as much as I like without getting the soles worn like I have done on my old pair. I am hoping that I can raise funds for my operation and my medicines. Anything that I raise extra will go towards my boots materials and treats for the bunnies. Us Helicopter Ears bunnies mostly have special needs, illnesses or disabilities and we try hard not only to get better ourselves but also share our bunniness with the rest of the Bunniverse.
