Today is World Spay Day! World Spay Day is an annual event to bring attention to the benefits of spaying/neutering companion animals.
Millions of unwanted cats and dogs are killed in shelters each year because there aren't enough homes. By spaying/neutering cats and dogs, we can prevent unwanted breeding and make an impact on the companion animal overpopulation crisis. 11,000 cats & dogs die in shelters EVERY DAY. Together, we can lower this number by supporting and advocating spay/neuter surgeries.
Citizens United for Animals provides spay/neuter surgeries to stray/feral cats and dogs. We also provide free or reduced-price surgeries to low income animal guardians. Our volunteers put together many fundraisers each year to finance our volunteer-run spay/neuter program, however, we rely 100% on donations from people like you and get zero government or other funding.
