GATOR RUN 911
Here at International Reptile Rescue, we're known for taking the more non "pet-like" animals from the "bought before you thought" crowd.
Which means we have a whole lotta alligators that need a one way ticket to a new permanent home at an alligator preserve in the mountains of Colorado...yes Colorado.
Their new mountain resort home will be at Colorado Gators just outside of Alamosa. They are wonderful people we've known for a long time and have worked with before. This is a family run operation that's been around for decades.
When we get stocked to capacity they are gracious enough to take them...if we can get them there.
That's where you our adoring, fun-loving, know all the hard work we do, followers and fans come in.
We need to raise travel funds to get these dinosaur wanna be's to Colorado before they actually turn into dinosaurs.
We have all sizes from the little "ouch" nippers to the OMGosh "what was I thinking" size and everything in between. Which of course they weren't thinking clearly otherwise we wouldn't have them!!!
Have also been contacted by numerous people wanting to "include" there's when we go.
It's a 3-4 day drive each way and about 3300 miles round trip.
Just basic expenses include gas, lodging and food.
With this herd will need to take the big van which gets about 10mpg. So that's 330 gal at $4.50/gal comes to $1485 in gas alone.
Then lodging and food for 7-9 days at about $150 a day comes to$1350.
Expenses are already up to $2835 and that doesn't include possible breakdown of the van, which I lovingly refer to as our "miracle-mobile".
Your kind donations and help would and will be very appreciated as this is something we can't afford to do on our own.
