What you do.

Philly Sensory Theatre creates original, inclusive, immersive live theatre that welcomes people of all abilities into the magic of performance. We tour sensory-friendly shows throughout Greater Philadelphia, partnering with over 25 organizations. 

We believe theatre should be a place where everyone, regardless of sensory needs or ability, feels seen, supported, and celebrated. By adapting our performances and touring directly into communities across the region, we break down barriers to access and bring theatre to audiences who might otherwise never experience it

What you've done.

Since our founding, we’ve developed and toured six original multi-sensory performances, reached diverse neighborhoods, and made live theatre welcoming to families and individuals of all backgrounds. Shows are structured to encourage engagement, comfort, and joy, with no barriers to participation. We call this Shush-Free Theatre. 

Proof of impact:

• Over 6500 people across Philadelphia have seen our shows, reaching over 20 different zip codes. 

• We’ve grown from our first shows to reaching hundreds of audience members across the city and continue expanding.

• We have partnered with over 25 organizations in Philadelphia- including libraries, schools, shelters, parks, community centers, and more. We believe that theatre can happen anywhere. 

How funds will be used.

We are raising money for our spring tour of Light Years Away. The money raised will help pay for the artists stipends, and also fund shows for venues that are unable to pay us to come in (like shelters, and community centers). We want to offer our shows free of charge but need to make sure that we are also supporting our artists. Specifically where the fundings will go: 

$1200- help cover artist/travel stipends for the tour (fill in the gap of what we currently don't have raised). 

$800- provide the show for free to the Center for Autism, Jane Addams Shelter, and various other locations. 

We’ll keep supporters updated with program reports, photos from performances, and behind-the-scenes stories so you can see the difference your support makes.

Light Years Away- an original dance theatre production about the Sun and the Moon and their relationship to each other. The show toured in fall 2024 and reached over 1000 people and toured to eight locations.
