Hi friends,

We’re the Urena family — Jason, Erinn, Judah, Paxson, and Noah — and we’ve committed our lives to bring hope and transformation to the heart of Long Island: Riverhead, NY.

After years of working in social work, mentoring youth, and building outreach programs, we recently took a leap of faith — stepping away from full-time employment to pursue this calling full-time. We’re missionaries now, building something beautiful called The Porch, a missional coffeehouse and community hub for healing, prayer, and connection.

📍 Why Riverhead?

Riverhead is more than just a town — it’s a gateway to both the North and South Forks of Long Island, and a strategic hub for culture, commerce, and spiritual renewal.

But Riverhead also carries deep needs:

• It has one of the highest poverty rates on the East End, especially among young families and working-class individuals.

• The town is marked by economic diversity, with both seasonal wealth and year-round hardship existing side by side.

• Many here feel disconnected, overworked, or overlooked, especially those struggling with housing insecurity, addiction, or generational trauma.

Historically, Riverhead was once a thriving agricultural and civic center, the official seat of Suffolk County. But as industries shifted and needs grew, the spiritual and communal life of the town began to fray. We believe now is the time to bring restoration — not just through services, but through presence, prayer, and authentic community.

☕️ What Is The Porch?

The Porch is a missional community and coffee roastery, rooted in faith, hospitality, and outreach. We’re creating a space where people can be seen, known, and transformed — one cup of coffee and one encounter at a time.

Our vision includes:

• A brick-and-mortar coffeehouse in downtown Riverhead

• A mobile espresso bar for outreach, events, and evangelism

• A missional team doing life-on-life discipleship, prayer walks, and community care

• Ongoing worship nights, food distributions, and young adult mentorship

We’re already active — walking the streets, praying with strangers, building relationships, and serving coffee as a doorway to deeper conversations.
