Fr. Rich Toohey has been the the pastor of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church since 2017. He was ordained in September 2001. Other assignments he has had are St. Jude in Erie (assistant pastor), Cathedral Prep (Campus Minister and teacher), Notre Dame Parish in Hermitage (where he also served on the board of Prince of Peace Center), St. Mary of Grace Parish in Meadville (pastor), Allegheny College (Catholic Chaplain), and St. Joseph Parish in Warren (pastor).
Fr. Rich is the son of Jim and Mary Ann Toohey who were the 2010 Honorees for the Catholic Charities Helping Hands award. He is the youngest of six children. His brother, Jim, has served on the Catholic Charities of Erie Board and his sister Diane was recently hired as the Director of the Office of Social Service and Impact at Catholic Charities in Erie. He is blessed to have 25 nieces and nephews.
Fr. Rich fondly remembers being a part of St. Martin Center Christmas parties through the Teenage Action Club at Cathedral Prep in the late 1980s and so he welcomes this opportunity to again work with St. Martin Center in the great work they do for people in need in the Erie Community. He feels his overconsumption of coffee makes him a well-qualified judge for the coffee competition. Your support of Fr.
