As a single mother of two boys, I worked at local taverns, to not only make do, but to make friends, and even some family. I didn’t have time to travel with my kids, or to mingle, so working in the industry helped keep us busy making local friends, and to be included in local events, as the community started involving the boys and I as their own. As time went by, I was able to get some experience in other careers, grow my family, with a husband and daughter, and still stay local to the community I grew to love and call home; but noticed that the areas in which to gather, have really diminished. Last year, I lost one of the friends, that I call a brother, I inherited, through bartending. I have been recently offered through his family, the chance to purchase his old business building to finally open my own establishment. I have met with the town hall for licenses needed, I have met with business planners, and made an amazing three year plan, with projection support, and ways to make this dream a reality. I have been approved for two different loan offers with local lenders, and much support by folks in the community. Here is where I need some extra help. The financial institutions have requested that I do not come up with the down payment from our homes equity, or from our 401k. They would like it upfront, and not borrowed. I need your help, at just $26.00 per donation, to make this happen. This environment will differ from local ones as it will set a different environment from the rest, allow for renting options for private gatherings, offer occasional food products, along with events, and benefits to help local people and businesses. Our new generation of young adults are leaving town for gatherings, when they should be able to find a local establishment they feel comfortable in. Along with adults who may have a different taste for menu options not available at any current locations. I love involving the community, because it took a village to help me and my boys before, and I would like to offer something back to the same village. I will even have local friends helping with the startup and building projections, opposed to corporate businesses.
