cascading tragedy which threatens to destroy the life of a humble and
law-abiding young man. Our son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend
Akee is facing the fight of his life. This nightmare began when he was
viciously and inexplicably attacked upon arriving home from work by a
gang of known criminals. The brutal attack threatened his life
(sending him to the hospital for extensive surgery to repair stab
wounds which he is still recovering from) and the safety of his sister
and girlfriend who were also victimized. Now, this epic fight
continues as Akee faces baseless charges of murder of one of the
assailants. This prosecution is unjust, and our family is committed to
clearing his name. Due to the ongoing criminal prosecution, we cannot
provide more details of the violent attack, but we assure you that
facts, when properly presented, will fully exonerate Akee. We need
your help to mount a vigorous defense and save this young man's life
from any more tragedy.
Akee is currently locked up until we can
post a $500,000 bail.
Akee is a kind, gentle, hardworking man that would do anything
for anyone! He is a proud father of two beautiful kids, Ahkai and
De'Ayn, and a committed family member and employee. He has never had
any previous trouble with the law. Though we are united in our support
for our beloved Akee, we do not have all the resources to retain the
skilled trial attorney needed to ensure proper disposition of this
case, a dismissal or acquittal. As a result, we are appealing to you
