Growing up in the Bronx I could've
easily fallen into the wrong crowd. Taekwon-Do kept me on the right
path. I started training at a very young age and it taught me to be
self sufficient and determined to reach my goals. It gave me the
opportunity to grow as a person and become physically, mentally and
spiritually strong.
It led me to serve in the Marine Corps for 8 years and later pursuing my career with the U.S State Department working abroad for 10.5 years.
Recently returned to the U.S and opened my own
martial arts and fitness studio so I can give back to the community
and provide a positive venue where students learn self respect,
determination, leadership and self worth.
Our short term goal for the program is to provide a one year scholarship to 50 inner city kids. Long term I wish to provide this program as a continuous affordable, publicly funded service to the underprivileged children of Jersey City and surrounding impoverished areas. This is just the beginning!
At the academy, students will learn the tenets of Taekwon-Do: Courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, indomitable spirit, honor, courage and commitment. My goal is to give a haven where I can share my experience and serve as a role model for others to emulate.
To be a good
teacher, one must be a good student. With every donation, you are
helping shape a child's life. Let's create a better future and great
leaders by focusing our positive energy onto these young children.
