On Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, the Maui Fire decimated the town of Lahaina, now the deadliest natural disaster in the U.S. in over a century. Much more than a travel destination, the historic town of Lahaina was once the capital of the Kingdom of Hawai`i and is the burial home to many Hawaiian chiefs. The town lost all cultural and religious sites dating back to the 1800s, and the damage to homes and businesses is estimated to take more than $5 billion to repair.
As Sonoma County natives, we know this devastation all too well. Our community has experienced its own loss; we also know the support and beauty of rebuilding from the ashes.
But most importantly, we know generosity.
As a community that understands giving when it is truly needed, let us unite for the people of Maui as they heal, grieve and restore with our donations and Aloha.
The event funds will be funneled through the B-Rad Foundation , a Sonoma County 501c3 nonprofit. All money collected will be donated to The Maui Strong Fund . Focused on immediate community needs, The Maui Strong Fund allocates one hundred percent of the money donated to the people of Maui’s needs and focuses on the rapid response and recovery for those affected by the devastating wildfires on the island.
In collaboration with the Sebastopol Area Chamber of Commerce, The Sebastopol Center for the Arts, the Sebastopol Downtown Association, the B-Rad Foundation, and the Gravenstein Grill, we welcome you to gather in the spirit of Aloha to generously support the island and community of Maui in its time of need.
