Sometimes it seems that no matter how hard you try life just doesn't go the way you've planned. This was the case for Chubby and her dad.
One morning Chubby's human mom of 3 years suddenly died. Unable to afford the mortgage on their home Chubby and her dad had to leave their home and move to a smaller house they could afford. After moving to their new home Chubby found a hole in the fence and went exploring. For days her dad searched and searched for her with no luck. Finally after several days Chubby returned home dehydrated, hungry and limping. Unable to afford to take Chubby to a vet her dad contacted us asking for help through our Pay It Forward Program. We arranged for an exam and x-ray and it was confirmed that Chubby had broken her hind leg.
The options at this point are her dad can surrender Chubby to Golden Retriever Rescue for medical care, never to see her again. Other options include surgery costing $1,300 to repair her leg, or her leg could be amputated at a lower cost.
After all that Chubby and her dad have been through we have made a commitment to save her leg and keep Chubby and her dad together.
We need your help to save Chubby's leg and restore some faith and hope for her dad too.
100% of the money we raise for Chubby will pay for orthopedic surgery, pain meds, and follow-up veterinary visits for her. Please give what you can....even $10.00 will make a difference. You can also help by asking your friends to donate and share Chubby's story too.
