CorgiPals, Inc. hasn't added a story.
Milhouse is a walking Simpsons reference, and the apple of his mom's eye. He recently took a fall and tore his ACL, a story all too familiar to me since my Dexter Jaymz has done this to BOTH of his hind legs. Here is Milhouse's story in the words of Corgi Mom Lindsay:
"Let's start off by introducing my tank. His name is Milhouse. We, of course, have the nicknames and the proper long name, but nothing is more fitting that Milhouse. He truly lives up to it. He was born in Springfield, IL, another sign that it was fate. Hoping you catch the Simpsons reference.
He and I found each other at the best point in my life. I had a new career, a fiance, and a young admiration about life. Everything changed only months later. He was the source of any motivation I had. I consistently joke that he is my shadow and would be my child. He knows what I'm going to do before I do. He only greets people after checking in with me to make sure it is okay. And he finds the perfect way to melt my heart, no matter what. The list is honestly endless, but it basically amounts to him being my perfect dog.
A year ago, we realized that he had all of a sudden gained a substantial amount of weight. It was time for the "Milhouse Summer Slimdown", and he lost ten pounds, and we're still counting! (pretty sure he transferred it all to me) But, things seemed to be on the up and up. At his four years of life, we find ourselves with a new man, a new house, and an even better career. Truly could not be happier.
Then, last week, he took a fall. I was woken in the middle of the night by the dogs barking at something and then him whining. My best guess would be that his coordination skills woke him up a bit startled, and he took a tumble off the couch.
We waited a few days just taking things easy, and then at a vet trip, it was determined that he in fact tore his CCL/ACL. The only answer was surgery. We were able to get him almost immediately scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, and so far, he is doing great! He is putting weight on his foot and is back to his usual derpy self. I'm elated.
With our new house needing all kinds of necessary work and being self-employed, things have grown incredibly financially strict. And then we get to add this bill. I so appreciate everything your organization does for this ridiculous breed. I can't even imagine my world without him, and it seems to be a common opinion amongst us Corgi owners."
The total for Milhouse's surgery, including Funrazr and PayPal fees, is $2,700. Please share his story and help if you can!
