Abbey Road Developments Ltd., in partnership with Victoria Friends of Cuba, is raising $20,000 to provide humanitarian aid to families in Cuba facing severe economic hardship.

Cuba is currently experiencing widespread power outages, fuel shortages, and shortages of food, medicine, and other essential supplies. Aging infrastructure, economic challenges, and the long-standing U.S. embargo have all contributed to difficult conditions for ordinary Cuban families.

For decades, Canadians have maintained a special connection with Cuba. Canada has consistently been one of Cuba’s largest sources of tourism, and many Canadians have formed lasting friendships with Cuban people through travel, cultural exchange, and community connections. In recent years, Cuba’s tourism industry—one of the country’s most important economic drivers—has been severely impacted, leaving many families struggling to meet basic needs.

Here in Victoria, many of us have developed meaningful relationships with Cuban friends, colleagues, and community members. Abbey Road Developments has had the privilege of employing several talented Cuban Canadians who have become valued friends and members of our community.

100% of funds raised will support humanitarian assistance through Victoria Friends of Cuba, whose volunteers make regular trips to Cuba and work directly with local communities to ensure aid reaches families and people in need.
