OASIS Presents: The Freestyle Ball Juggling Youth Tour – Pathway to June 16
We are OASIS, an organization firmly established in Cape Town’s Cape Flats, where sport transcends mere entertainment and serves as a vital resource. Over the years, we have dedicated our efforts to communities grappling with challenges such as poverty, gangsterism, and unemployment, employing football as a catalyst for transformation. Today, we are embarking on a bold, innovative, and community-centered initiative: the Freestyle Ball Juggling Tour, culminating in a significant event on Youth Day, June 16, 2025.
Significance of This Initiative
This endeavor is not simply about showcasing freestyle
techniques. It is an opportunity for young individuals to
express themselves, engage in competition, foster a sense of
belonging, and elevate their aspirations. With the
assistance of former professional athletes, coaches, and
mentors, we aspire to bring freestyle ball juggling events
into underserved communities, generating
enthusiasm, building momentum, and identifying local talent.
The Journey to June 16
Each stop on this journey represents a celebration of skill,
resilience, and communal spirit. Young participants will have the
opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and style, while
cultivating self-discipline, confidence, and pride. This all converges
into one remarkable event: the OASIS Youth Day Final,
to be held at the Oasis Business Park, Schaapkraal,
where outstanding local talents will vie for recognition, top-lined by
Giovanni Rector & Co.

Introduction:
We are an NPO called ‘THE OASIS’. Over 20+years we have evolved. From small beginnings we have helped partners and funders to deliver meaningful results - contributing to make real change to the lives of 150,000.
Along the way we have learned how to bridge shortfalls that exist in traditional Social Development and support programmes. As the word has spread, communities, families and lost-souls are turning more and more for help at THE OASIS.
Our plan is to gear up to meet this escalating demand. We have systems and a strategy. Now, with your support, together we will bring change to the lives of thousands more.
The Challenge We're Tackling
In Cape Town, the gap between the advantaged and disadvantaged continues to grow—while traditional interventions fall short. Chronic homelessness is rising, especially among youth in townships where unemployment, lack of education, trauma, and hopelessness are everyday realities.
Parents are overwhelmed. Many face poverty, low self-esteem, and few opportunities. Their children are exposed to violence, substance abuse, and broken family structures. As a result, school dropout rates rise—and many young people end up on the streets.
In these environments, gangs fill the void—offering false promises of money, power, and belonging. The cost? Rising violence, substance abuse, gender-based harm, early pregnancy, and the breakdown of community trust.

There’s a clear gap between social development policies and lived realities. People are afraid, disillusioned, and under pressure. Conventional solutions don’t reach the streets where the real struggle happens.

Our Response: A New Way Forward
At OASIS, we meet people where they are—on their streets, in their communities, and on their terms. That’s what sets us apart.
We’ve built real relationships—even with gangs—earning their respect because of what we stand for and how we support those they once claimed. We create trust, offer guidance, and walk alongside each individual on their journey back to stability and purpose.
Our approach blends street culture, sport, and structured support, showing youth that it’s not cool to drop out, join gangs, or give up. It’s cooler to rise above. And we show them how.
