The most unique detail about ResqTex is how we came to be. While most competitive rope rescue teams are made up of a work group (of firefighters, usually), we came together organically. Our team is made up of multiple professionals from across Texas that just wanted to have fun with a unique interest-playing with rope. We got along, worked well together and our wives approved of one another...so we got the green light to practice and play with rope and eventually, compete at TRC in 2023. Being that we were self sourced, self funded and in it for the love of rope rescue, we were just happy competing while our wives made fun of us and drank wine. When we took home 1st place...we were exhilarated and absolutely shocked. So in 2024 when we competed for the second time, we had some sort of expectation...maybe recognition or 3rd place. To our surprise, we got 1st place again!
Now, this group of rope nerds are going international. ResqTex was chosen as 1 of 30 teams to compete at GRIMP in Geneva in June of 2025. This is truly an honor and beyond what we expected would happen when we started our hobby as a team. But we need your help! As mentioned, we are a self-funded, self-made team of friends taking time off work to embark in this adventure.
