Cooper was hit by a car on Friday, January 28th, 2020 and evaded Animal Control, Good Samaritans, and the Sheriff's Office for 5 days before we were able to trap him. He was lost, terrified, injured, and didn't know who he could trust. Once we got him into the shelter we let him calm down, then got him started on pain medication, bribed him with some yummy canned food, and in just a few hours he relaxed and realized he could trust us. In fact, he wants to have his head in our lap at all times!

As you can see from the photos and video, his leg is likely broken. Cooper has an appointment with our veterinarians first thing in the morning for x-rays and to decide the best course of action for his injuries.

Unfortunately, we do not have any extra funds at this time to pay for extra veterinary care, as our Madison 51 dogs from the hoarding case have required more in veterinary care than we originally anticipated and those bills are still adding up. We've started this campaign with an estimation of what an amputation may cost for a dog his size but we will update with the correct amount needed once we speak with the veterinarian tomorrow. If you could help us to help Cooper, we would be incredibly grateful!

Please see updates posted below. Any funds raised over the amount that Cooper will need will be used for the many other animals that come into the shelter and need veterinary care.
