The last year has been very hard, emotional, physically and mentally. We lost our home due to landlord not making his mortgage pymts, I have lived at the campsite, and rented a room, all while paying lease property payments for the horses, maintaining their health and paying on two large storage units.

My son has had many hospital stays, and I have traveled back and forth to the East Coast to help my brother in his battle with cancer.

Today I am sitting here pinching myself to make sure that I am not asleep and dreaming but fully awake. We have found our forever home.

As I do not need any help with down payment, I am asking for a hand up for other costs that this move will take.

For many months I was afraid that we would have to close the rescue as I could not find a home that we could afford that enabled us to keep the horses with us. Well, a solution was put forth and it will be...:)

We are purchasing a 1.5 acre property with a home on it. This property will need to be fenced, hence the request for a hand up..the 1.5 acre will house the few sanctuary horses that will remain with Ohana Rescue until it is time for them to go home.

Many are thinking that 1.5 acres is not enough to run a rescue, and you are right...BUT the home is two doors down from the property that I am already leasing for the horses..:) So a total of 6 acres will be had for the horses. The sanctuary horses will be on the new homes property and the horses that need to come in will be housed on the leased property. (homeowner lives on property of leased pasture)

The fund raiser is for $2500.00, this will cover some of the moving expenses, BUT the majority will be for wood, posts, screws, et al, oh and some labor, as I can no way do this alone. Shelters also will need to be purchased or built...This past year we have not been able to bring in volunteers so I am afraid that we have lost most of them. Praying though that as soon as we get secure again, this will change. I really miss my old life and I am sure the horses do also. The times of constant brushing, working in round pen, and bathes...

Are there any supporters out there that would like to help this transaction go much smoother? Supporters that have stood by us, through thick and thin? New supporters that love that we have continued through all the other issues and continued to stay open and help horses in need?

Any donations that we do NOT use for the fencing, and expenses of the new property, will of course go towards hay, grain, vet and farrier.
