The Share the Road Cycling Coalition has been working since 2008 to build a more bicycle-friendly Ontario. Together, we have achieved important progress, but there is still work to do. And we need your support to make it happen. Your donation will support our advocacy work to build an Ontario where:
- Every student participates in a cycling training course: after consulting with more than 250 stakeholders, Share the Road is working with partners to drastically increase the number of cycling instructors and students trained each year through schools, summer camps and other community programs.
- Our communities are connected by a network of cycle tracks, bike lanes and paved shoulders: our collective advocacy efforts this year resulted in plans to spend up to $225 million on cycling infrastructure through the Climate Change Action Plan. This is a milestone for cycling, but we are not stopping there.
- Every Ontario resident feels safe & comfortable hopping on their bicycle: our Bicycle Friendly Communities program supports advocates, municipal staff and elected officials in more than 60 communities each year as they work to make your streets and neighbourhoods safer and more bike-friendly.

About the Magnets
The 1m safe passing magnets were designed in Huron County after local resident Julie Sawchuk was hit while riding her bike in the summer of 2015. Team Julie has been incredibly active in building safer spaces for people who bike over the past year. In addition to distributing the magnets, Julie has been speaking at events and attending workshops aimed at increasing cycling safety.
