Kaylee was rescued last winter as an emaciated heartworm positive stray. It took her two months to gain enough weight to undergo heartworm treatment safely. Her teeth were in horrible condition upon intake and the vet said that she could not be safely sedated to have a dental done before her heartworm treatment was completed. Kaylee has been on antibiotics to prevent severe infection and will need major cleaning and several extractions in order to make her adoptable and ready for placement through our rescue partners in New England. This is the last step in her rescue process and will allow her to finally find a forever home. Her teeth have been brushed daily since she was rescued but her gums had already receded to the point that food gets jammed in between her teeth and gum line. Every day her gums bleed when her teeth are brushed. This little dog is ready for her new family, she needs you to make that happen.
