Dear friends. 

In April 2020,the government of Uganda imposed a total Lockdown because of Covid 19. Due to this directive, the community of Kassanda where 90% of the dwellers live on less than a dollar everyday, has registered a big number of hunger stricken families. 

Little girls who were sent home from schools which are closed have been forced to do odd jobs  to get a meal for themselves and their loved ones. In search for food, majority of these girls get enticed by older men who offer them a meal or money in exchange of sex. 

In July alone, defilement cases stood at 175 girls  kassanda and in June, defilement cases stood at 163 girls. 

While we study unaware of when schools will open again for the young people to study  and be safe, these teen mothers who gat impregnated unfortunate circumstances will not be allowed in class room in their condition and majority of them may never go back to school ever again in their life time. 

Free born children mission ministres is embarking on a skill training project to build a future of economic independence for these girls. 

We believe that when enrolled to our knitting and cohret class for three months, these pregant girls will eventually become economically self reliant and thy will be able to look after themselves and their babies in future.

We are therefore appealing to everyone to support our Knitting and cohret sewing machine programme by Donating  towards the Purchase of manual sewing machines, buying all required materials for three months training money to buy lunch for the girls, trainers salaries, counseling services and antenatal sessions. 

We have been offered a place where we shall conduct our training innovation village center already covered.
