■Introduction of PPKC■
A Traditional BUDO(Martial Arts) of Japan "KENDO" has been gaining popularity in worldwide.
PPKC was founded in 2009 by a small group of kendo lovers in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
To this day we remain the only kendo club in the country, and the Cambodia-Japan Traditional Martial Arts Center (CJTMC) is our home base. We are open to all nationalities, age group, and gender.
Through kendo, we forge character development and cultural exchange by practicing and learning the concepts and techniques of kendo together with both local and international mix of members.
プノンペン剣道クラブは2009年にカンボジアにおける剣道の普及と剣士育成を目的に創立されました。
創立以降、カンボジア人を中心に、インターナショナルなメンバーで猛暑の中、稽古に励んでいます。

■History of AKT and PPKC■
In 2013, the Malaysian Kendo Federation invited us to participate in the 10th ASEAN KENDO TOURNAMENT (AKT), which is the most prestigious kendo tournament in South East Asia.
During this time, Cambodia had not yet established a national team with sufficient skills and commitment to join an international tournament like AKT.
Therefore, no delegation was sent to represent the country at this time.
アセアン剣道大会は、3年に一度開催される東南アジアで最も大きな国際剣道大会です。
2013年、マレーシア剣道連盟より、第10回アセアン剣道大会への招待を頂いた際には、国際試合への参加に十分な実力と経験をもった剣士が育っていなかったため、残念ながら代表団参加を辞退しました。
By 2016 however, the Thailand Kendo Federation sent us invitation to the 11th AKT in Bangkok, Thailand and the club was finally able to send 7 delegates (6 Men, 1 Woman), who would be the first ever Cambodian team to compete in this international event.
Mr. Hocklee Heng, one of the club’s most senior members, bagged the first winning point for the team, which in itself was a historical achievement.
2016年、タイ剣道連盟よりバンコク大会への招待を受けます。
3年間の地道な稽古の成果により、7名(男性6名、女性1名)の剣士が大会に参加することが出来ました。
実は、これがカンボジア人剣士たちにとって、初めての国際試合であり、
団体戦でのホックリー選手による唯一の黒星は、PPKCにとって歴史的な快挙となりました。
This year of 2019, our Cambodian team will once again undertake the challenge of competing in the 12th ASEAN KENDO TOURNAMENT (AKT), which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on August 10-11.
Our delegation team had been training very hard and diligently to get that essential "ippon" (1 point), which will hopefully take them further through the competition pools.
今年8月、インドネシア・ジャカルタにて開催される第12回アセアン剣道大会(ジャカルタ大会)に再度挑戦します。
選手たちは、大会での一本獲得を目指し、日々厳しい稽古をつんでいます。
■As National Team of Cambodia■
Our delegation members are officially recognized as a Cambodian National Team in joining the AKT by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports.
8月にジャカルタで開催されますアセアン剣道大会にむけ、
代表選手6名がカンボジア代表選手として
カンボジア教育省より正式に認定されました。
■Financial Support■
Our biggest concern at present is the financing of this this grand
expedition, to which we will greatly appreciate whatever financial
help you can offer.
PPKC is a non-profit organization, which
operates mainly on members’ voluntary contributions. The club,
therefore, is unable to solely shoulder all the expenses for the
participation fees, transportation fares, and accommodation fees.
We would greatly value any support coming from you, and we hope you will become part of our journey and our aspirations to reach the AKT and someday take home a gold. Your kind regard and support will strengthen our team’s morale, and will enable us to perform our role as a Cambodian National Team and deserve this title too.
PPKCはメンバーの自発的な寄付によって運営されています。
したがって、遠征のための予算（参加費、交通費、宿泊費）すべてをクラブ経費でカバーすることが難しい状況です。
私たちの活動を理解し、ASEANで最も権威のある剣道大会への挑戦を支援していただければ嬉しいです。
皆さまからの全てのご支援が、代表選手たちの力となり、モチベーションとなります。
The team’s experiences in AKT will not only enrich international relations between Cambodia and other ASEAN countries through Kendo, but also strengthen Cambodia’s presence in the map of kendo-practicing nations worldwide.
