The Trevilians Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department is a 100% Volunteer Fire Department with approximately 42 active members responding to emergencies in Louisa County and surrounding counties 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The membership of Trevilians Volunteer Fire & Rescue are dedicated professionals that take time away from their families and lives to serve you. We are dedicated to training to become better and stay proficient at the services that we provide. The cost of equipment and training is not cheap by any means. To give a few examples, the cost of a fire engine that shows up during emergencies is approximately $500 to $700 thousand dollars. The cost of fire gear for each firefighter is approximately $3,000 dollars. The cost of a Thermal Imaging Camera to better help search for victims and/or fires hidden in walls of houses is approximately $8,000 to $10,000 dollars. The Trevilians Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department receives funding from the county government for day to day operations and maintenance but we rely on you, the citizen to provide donations to our department to further advance our services that we provide. Any little bit will help and is appreciated. We are also seeking volunteers to help provide the services to our community by becoming a firefighter, EMT or even an auxiliary or associate member and helping with events and fund raising.
