I turned 40 years young on May 15th!
To celebrate I’m painting 40 new murals in Woodstock and Khayelitsha.
Will you help me celebrate by contributing funds, co-creating the murals, or sharing this campaign with friends?
The cost of painting each mural is about R3,000 or just about $215 or €175. This amount covers the supplies and the time it will take me and friends {yes, I will have help!} to complete each mural. That’s why I need a total of about $8,500 or €7,000 to paint all 40 murals.
Each mural will be completed in about a day once the funds are secured, the design is completed, and the location is identified. In other words: #40Days40Murals!
Here’s how you can support this effort and what you’ll get in return:
A. Contribute any amount. As I collect enough for each mural and begin to work on it, I will share updates. No amount is too small. Be sure to follow me on social media at Instagram {@JumaArtTours} and Facebook {www.facebook.com/jumaarttours}.
B. Contribute enough to fund a whole mural {roughly $215/€175/R3,000} and get to design it with me and the family of whose home it will adorn. You get to choose between Woodstock and Khayelitsha too.
C. Get a group of your friends to contribute smaller amounts of $/€/R adding up to the cost of one mural and get to design it with me, the family of whose home it will adorn, and your friends. If you choose this option, be sure to tell me who’s in your group.
D. Contribute half the cost of a mural {roughly $105/€90/R1,5000} and a full-day tour of Woodstock and Khayelitsha for two people is on us. Use it next time you visit Cape Town or share it with friends or family on their next visit.
E. All contributions of $85/€70 and above will get you hi-res digital images of the new murals.
Last year this time, many of you helped me fund a campaign to provide food, masks, and other necessities to Khayelitsha families affected by the covid lockdown, one of the strictest in the world. I remain grateful and humbled by your support. Thanks to you, many families were able to survive this global, still ongoing, crisis.
