Ken passed away at 10:40am on Thursday morning, March 12, 2015. A Funeral Service was held grave side at 10:00am on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 7231 E. Slauson Ave., Commerce, CA 90040.
Funds are being raised for the purchase, engraving and installation of a grave marker for Ken. Preliminary estimates are around $1,500. Additional funds raised will be used to create a memorial tribute for Ken. Suggestions have been made to place a photo memorial of Ken on a Culver City transit bus that Ken always rode. Other suggestions include the placement of a memorial plaque in a transit or rail center. Some tribute to Ken will be selected based on cost and funds raised from this effort.
Please donate as generously as you can as we are hoping to raise the needed funds within the next 30 days so that we can move forward with the selection, design and purchase of a grave marker and a memorial tribute. Thank you.
The American Passenger Rail Heritage Foundation (APRHF.com) is co-ordinating this fund raising effort. The APRHF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit nationwide organization headquartered in La Plata, Missouri, whose mission is to preserve and promote the role that passenger rail played in the building of this nation.
