The Aciro Community School Project is a transformative initiative aimed at providing high-quality education to children in the rural village surrounding Aciro Farm. The Need

The Aciro community is a remote area in Uganda, lacking basic infrastructure such as running water, electricity, and accessible roads. Most families live in poverty, and education is often out of reach. There is only one primary school in the area, and it is struggling to provide quality education due to limited resources and poor infrastructure. Moreover, there is no secondary school, leaving children with little opportunity for continued education after primary school.

Despite these challenges, education is a priority for the families in this community, who are committed to ensuring their children have a chance at a better life. Aciro Farm has been providing educational support for several years, focusing on orphans and the most vulnerable children. However, the school that was once supported by the farm collapsed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the land on which it was built was sold. Since then, a new private school has been established, but it is clear that the current system is inadequate and will not meet the community's needs in the long term.

The Aciro Community School Project

The Aciro Community School Project is a comprehensive, four-phase initiative designed to build the infrastructure and educational resources necessary to support children from primary through secondary education. The goal is to create a school that provides a safe, quality learning environment for students of all ages.

The project phases include:

Phase 1:

• Build primary school classrooms, toilet facilities, a garden, and a kitchen.

Phase 2:

• Expand with more classrooms, an administration office, teacher dormitory, a deep water well, solar power, and more toilets.

Phase 3:

• Add vocational training centers, agricultural education programs, and additional classrooms.

Phase 4:

• Build secondary school classrooms, a sports field, auditorium, science lab, and more support facilities.
