The purpose behind this project is to increase youth participation in our community and provide our youth with the platform to begin creating their individual legacies through advocacy and charitable initiatives.

We hope that through organizing fundraising events for this project, we can help advocate for the water crisis and promote charitable giving towards sustainable development.

Africa’s water crisis is reaching a breaking point. Roughly 330 million people are not using a clean water source and 84% of those people live in rural areas. Imagine having to travel miles by foot to find water, carrying about 40 pounds of water over your heads. Most of the time the water is infected or dirty, and African women and children are forced to drink from unprotected wells, rivers and lakes that make them sick. 

  Millions of African people are still deprived of the privilege of having access to water in their immediate environment. 663 million people drink dirty water everyday.

  But we as individuals have the power to change all of that! 

Africa Relief is a is a non-profit organization on the mission to improve the quality of living in developing communities in Africa by enabling partner communities to receive custom solutions to their most pressing challenges, including delivering food, digging wells, training women, providing healthcare, and sponsoring orphans and educational programs. So far, Africa Relief has sponsored 1,500+ water wells, provided thousands of people from 13 different countries with safe, clean drinking water. The wells they provide can serve between 200-800 individuals for several years and alleviate the struggles that many have been suffering through.

Not only does lack of access to safe, clean water keep people out of work, but it also keeps children out of school. Income generation and education – are both tools for ending the cycle of poverty. To a single mother who needs to work to earn an income, clean water is more than a donation, it’s health. It’s money. It’s hope.

  Access to clean water means education, income, and health – especially for vulnerable women and children. No one should have to live without it.
