Cindy is a 6 year old female Pug. She was born with a liver shunt that did not show up until a year ago. Simply, the vein that should run through her liver to clean her blood instead wraps around the liver leaving her blood to continue through her body contaminated. She has gone from weighing 19 pounds down to 12 pounds and is currently on medication to help her until she is strong enough for surgery. She will need life saving surgery only performed at University hospitals, luckily K State has evaluated her and she is a candidate for surgery. They have scheduled surgery for April 6 and the estimate is $4800. Cindy has had to have emergency care recently and that price tag was $2800, funds Wichita Pug Rescue had collected for the surgery. Wichita Pug Rescue is a small rescue and is asking for your help to save Cindy. After surgery, Cindy will be able to find her forever home and live a happy, normal life.
