Women’s Center – Santa Ana, Costa Rica

Founded in May 2022 by a small group of Bahá’í friends in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, the Women’s Center was created as a welcoming and inclusive space to strengthen connections within the community and support the empowerment of women. Inspired by tthe Universal House of Justice, the initiative seeks to contribute to community life by fostering learning, collaboration, and service among both Bahá’í and non-Bahá’í neighbors.

Located in the heart of Santa Ana, the Center provides a modest but accessible space where up to 20 participants can gather for educational, creative, professional, and spiritual activities. The Center focuses particularly on supporting women with limited economic resources by offering opportunities to develop new skills, build supportive relationships, and expand personal and professional possibilities.

Activities are organized in a spirit of service, with volunteers offering workshops, talks, and classes at little or no cost. Programs have included language learning (such as English and Portuguese classes), financial and personal development workshops, arts and crafts activities, and community gatherings for reflection and spiritual connection.

Over time, the Women’s Center has helped build a growing network of relationships among participants, encouraging collaboration, mutual support, and greater community engagement.  With your support we can continue offering this space to the Santa Ana Community so that more people can benefit.
