Hi, my name is Todd Eckman, and I’m the owner of Closets by Todd LLC, an interior design and craftsmanship business in Black Diamond, WA. While I love creating beautiful spaces, my greatest passion is building a brighter future for the young people in my community.
Black Diamond is a place of natural beauty and hardworking people, but many of our youth face challenges like unemployment or being unable to continue their education. For too many of them, the door to opportunity feels firmly shut. I want to change that.
That’s why I’ve created Future by Design, a free training program to teach interior design and craftsmanship skills to young people in need. This program will provide practical skills and inspire a sense of purpose, confidence, and possibility. It's not just about learning a trade—it's about empowering young minds to dream bigger and take control of their futures.
Through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and real-world
experience, these young individuals will learn:
• Interior design basics like layout, color theory, and space
optimization.
• Practical skills such as woodworking, measuring,
and project planning.
• Problem-solving, teamwork, and
confidence-building that will last a lifetime.
