WORLD POOL TOUR hasn't added a story.
The World Pool Tour Mission:
To help make pool the number one sport in the world by holding
world class tournaments with the annually increasing financial success
of more and more players as the main goal. To create an unmatched
playing experience for the players, and exciting viewing experiences
for the fans. To provide a platform that will steward the game in a
positive light for future generations to know, love, and enjoy.
Hi friend, my name is Max Eberle and I've been playing in
professional pool tournaments for 32 years. I've added a bio below
but in brief, I've won a few star studded events and over a thousand
local events, I've been to over 30 countries representing the USA,
played in thousands of pool halls, taught thousands of players with my
lessons, DVDs, and books, and I've beaten 19 world champions and
hundreds of big name top pro players along the way. I don't claim to
be the best ever but I've got a lot of experience in this sport and I
want to give back and help pool flourish for generations to come. I
simply see too many easily fixable mistakes being made, and some not
so easy to fix.
I need your help though. I'm not a trust fund baby but I need some trust fund money to do this right. That money is waiting, but for now I just need enough to get this thing setup properly.
I've played in beautifully promoted and setup events, and I've played in awfully setup and promoted events, and doing this as a player gives me a unique insight into what needs to be done to improve the sport so that the prize money equals or exceeds that of professional golf. And yes, I do believe that is actually possible. Pool is just too strong of a game and according to the numbers I've seen, it's the most widely played sport in the entire world. Now that is amazing!
Today I'm asking you to make my mission your mission. Together we can turn pool into the number one sport on Earth. Your small or large donation will go a long way in helping me and my team setup this company correctly and get to the big money needed to make it a reality. This is not a stock offering, it's way bigger than that. It's a appeal to put your money where your best ideals and aspirations are for the sport you love, the sport of pool, or as Willie Mosconi liked calling it, Pocket Billiards. Join me today in helping pool achieve legendary status among the big money sports of today, where we both know it certainly belongs!
The Problem:
As a pool player, fan of professional pool, or as a pro player,
are you frustrated with the much smaller prize purses that
professional pool players win, when compared to other sports like
golf, tennis, football, basketball and baseball? Are you annoyed
that professional pool coverage on network television has lost it's
presence and has less coverage than new “sports” like corn-hole, or
other arguably less skilled sports like bowling and darts?
You know how difficult pool is to play, and especially how difficult it is to master. It takes years and decades of practice and training for a player to reach the skill level where it's even possible for them to win matches, let alone tournaments on a professional level.
Many fans and players agree that the skill it takes to play pool
at the highest level is equal to the skill required to play golf at
the highest level, and although golfers may disagree, there are
athletes who say that pool is even tougher than golf to play and
master. Yet professional golfers make 100 times the prize money
and 1000 times the endorsement money of professional pool players.
It just doesn't seem fair or correct now in 2023 and beyond...
The Solution:
The solution to the problem is many fold, yet first of all pool
needs a promotions company that strives to help the players to
prosper financially to the highest possible degree, instead of
promoters whose main goal is personal gain. Pool also needs a
promotions company that sets up the venues and playing setups in the
correct manner.
Once this correct goal and spirit of helping the players succeed in the proper playing arena is embraced by a competent company, the many solutions and strategies for making it happen can be achieved. WORLD POOL TOUR has mapped out the solutions to the many problems that have faced professional pool over the years.
WORLD POOL TOUR aims to become that promotions company which has the success of the professional pool players as it's number one goal. We believe that with this goal as our lodestar, our many other secondary goals will produce many positive outcomes for the sport and its players from novice to amateur and professionals alike. When the players prosper, WORLD POOL TOUR will prosper.
The Barriers:
What are the problems and barriers to success in professional
pool? Why don't the professional pool players make the big money
that they rightly deserve for the skill level they've achieved?
While some companies are doing more things right and making improvements recently, it is our goal to be a leader in all areas that need improving, instead of complaining and waiting around for decades for improvements that we all wish would have come much sooner.
The barriers causing the small prize money and poor promotion in pool are many and include: Promoters reaping most of the gain, promoters not increasing prize money each year in their flagship events, inadequate venues and conditions for the players and fans, inadequate advertising to notify the public about major events in their city, a lingering negative perception of pool promoted by Hollywood over the years, a lack of standardization of equipment, rules, and etiquette for professional events, a lack of corporate sponsorship or other means of supplying prize money to the players, a lack of regular TV airtime for the sport, a lack of the promotion of professional player personalities to the general public, and bad publicity or behavior by some of the professionals themselves.
Another unseen barrier is that many "Pro Events" are held in pool halls. In these events the tables are too close to each other, the tables are not set up or maintained in a consistent professional way, and they are mainly glorified promotions events for the pool hall itself.
And sometimes when events are held in hotel ballrooms with plenty of space, the setup is not done properly for the players or the fans best experience. The conditions may be lacking in some other aspect like bad lighting, freezing cold temperatures, unlevel tables, cloth that is too fast, and pockets that are too big for the pros' standard game. The list of things that need improving in many pro tournaments goes on and on year after year.
Your Impact:
You now have the opportunity to change history and assist in
positively impacting the course of professional pool forever. Your
donation now will change the course of the sport and help us realize
many dreams for the sport of pool that should have been reality
decades ago.
Instead of watching pool flounder or go through the normal historical cycles of surging and waning public popularity, you'll actually be helping pool achieve the legendary status it's deserved for a century as a major sport in the world, one in which parents the world over will proudly introduce to their children as a viable option for them to pursue as a passion and professional career.
What You'll Receive:
In exchange for your donation in addition to achieving hero
status, you'll receive lifetime recognition in the WPT PRO POOL HALL
OF FAME as a founding contributor, various VIP status at all future
WPT events depending on your donation size, and many other future
exclusive benefits.
Most of all you'll receive the satisfaction that you took
decisive action in being part of the solution to improving the sport
we love, and in knowing that you had a direct hand in the success of
pool as it grows into the future.
Why the funds are needed:
Funds are needed for legal and professional costs to set up and
brand the World Pool Tour correctly. When you have the best, the next
step is to be able to afford them. The coming WPT will prioritize the
players and the positive growth of the sport, which will also require
legal expertise to defend the WPT and help keep us moving forward with
our focus on the work to accomplish the mission ahead.
