Hello from Charlottesville! As you may know, we are Club Baseball at the University of Virginia. Our team is a UVA CIO (Contracted Independent Organization), non-profit 501(c)(3), and we compete in the National Club Baseball Association's Division 1 Mid-Atlantic North region. We are excited to play our seven-series spring season with our home games at the historic Burley Middle School baseball field.
As a student-run CIO, we are responsible for managing every aspect of our organization, including membership, scheduling, travel and uniform expenses, hiring umpires, and fundraising. Because we are unable to utilize the baseball facilities on Grounds to train, practice, or play, we sometimes incur additional expenses for indoor training and field rental.
With limited time for traditional fundraising, we are instead hoping to garner your direct support. Our fundraising goals are to purchase new baseballs and a pitching machine, and also to help defray travel and stay costs, so we can schedule at least one national level tournament each fall and spring season.
