Disgusted by the corruption, the ever-higher taxes, the lack of accountability from our corrupt elected officials, the disrespect for working families and our brave men and women in blue??
Then please chip in to help me, Republican Pete Smith, in my race to take on the establishment and defeat Democrat Bobby Henon in Philadelphia’s 6th Council District. The election is November 5th, 2019, and I really need your help.

Community Engagement
Litter, trash pickup, exposed cinderblock walls, potholes, abandoned vehicles, open-air drug markets: these are just a few issues that negatively impact the quality of life in District 6. I have heard my neighbors' concerns and intend to address them, immediately, upon taking office.
Accountability :
Light is an incredibly powerful disinfectant. The function of some of our city’s essential services has suffered because of a lack of accountability. A prime example of Philadelphia’s neglect can be found at ACCT Philly, our city’s primary and only open-intake animal shelter.
The Opioid Crisis :
The opioid crisis has affected nearly all Philadelphians on some level. I am no exception to this and am on a personal mission to combat the crisis.
Your donation does a lot for my campaign. $20 gets coffee for a team of great volunteers to go door to door, $75 pays for lunch for a team at the phone bank, and $100 prints over one thousand handout cards that I can give to voters.

Why is this race winnable?
My opponent, Democrat Bobby Henon, is the face of corruption in Philadelphia, and is currently under indictment awaiting criminal trial for multiple federal corruption charges.
Bobby Henon was instrumental in implementing the soda tax which hurts businesses and families in Philadelphia!
My district, which encompasses most of the Lower Northeast, has a lot of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, but voted for the Republican candidate in 2017 (the last off-year election) , and it will be a tight race!
But my opponent has the Democratic political machine behind him even though he’s about to be on trial!
About me:
I was born and raised in Philadelphia and have lived in the Northeast since I was 5. I am a proud husband, father of three and grandfather, I live in Tacony with my wife MaryBeth -- who I have been married to for over 32 years. Of all of the roles I play, my favorite role is that of a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Our parents were staples in the Tacony and Northeast Philadelphia communities as well. This area runs in our blood and I plan to represent YOU well in City Council, and fight the corruption and the ineptitude that has held our city back.
Growing up, I went to Tacony’s St. Leo’s and graduated from Father Judge High School, where I played football and was a swimmer, and then went on to obtain my bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Wharton here at Penn.
I am an active volunteer, little league coach, and serve as Block Captain of my street. I am the founder of the Northeast Philly Block Captain Coalition, because great communities begin at the street level.
When I served as President of the Tacony Civic Association , I worked closely with the community and our great police officers to put initiatives together which increased police presence and protected our neighborhoods -- moving drug dealers and prostitutes OFF the avenue and opening up the corridor for neighbors, kids and businesses . I also fund-raised to make sure we provided great events free of charge to the Tacony community, including a summer festival and many concerts.
I am a manager of a Fleet Management Sales and Service company. In all of my professional positions I look to build a culture of TEAMWORK and world-class customer service. That means I will run a responsive and accountable City Council office that will put YOUR needs first.
I plan on bringing change to City Hall that is desperately needed to help bring back the city of neighborhoods and fight for the Lower Northeast!
