On July 10, a Good Samaritan (Corlette Gantt Kelly) found Miracle the Cat down the street from her home. He was so malnourished and dehydrated that he could barely move or open his eyes. This poor cat was so fragile that when Corlette first picked him up she was afraid that his bones were going to break. Fortunately, she lives close to Cat Clinic of Woodstock (Animal Hospital of Towne Lake) and has a Care Credit account. The vet stated that Miracle was about 12 hours from starving to death and that she wasn't sure that Miracle was even going to make it. Corlette had Miracle started on fluids. A combo test revealed that he is FIV Positive. Miracle weighed less than 6 pounds at intake. He is about a year old.
After three days, Miracle has already gotten a lot stronger and has gained some weight. Corlette will be able to foster him through the end of the month. She was in the right place at the right time to save this precious cat's life. Miracle's vetting has already cost just under $700. We estimate that by the time he has finished treatment, vetting will have cost around $1,500. Corlette needs her Care Credit line for her personal dog and cat.
Furever Match Rescue has stepped up to raise funds for Miracle's treatment and to place him when he has been cleared medically. Any additional funds will be used towards rescuing another cat in honor of Miracle.
