Harmony Fund hasn't added a story.
We Need a Mountain of Food
Today we are feeding thousands of animals on the street. They come running from all directions, each so grateful for something to eat. Every day, no matter how hot or how cold, how rainy or snowy, we arrive with meals. We are also delivering palettes of food to bare-bones rescue centers who are barely staying afloat. Recently we have been bombarded with emergencies from rescue centers who have only 1 or 2 days worth of food remaining. They are beyond desperate. But our resources have been exhausted and we need your help to make it through the month. We can't cope with the sorrow of allowing animals to go hungry.
Meet a Few of the Animal Rescuers We Help
"When someone the Harmony Fund helps you in a very
difficult circumstance, you lack the right words to express your
gratitude. In April of 2013 my shelter for dogs was about to
collapse due to lack of donations. This despair, powerlessness
and fear that I experienced in those moments, words cannot begin
to describe. The shelter was heavily in debt. I asked everyone I
knew for help. Someone wrote to Harmony Fund on my behalf, and
within a couple of weeks, the Harmony Fund collected a
staggering amount to buy food for the dogs and promised to send
more each month. When I first heard this news I thought, perhaps
there’s a hidden camera? Or maybe I’m dreaming? Luckily I was
wrong - Harmony Fund's words were true. They saved my shelter
and my dogs! I will never be able to thank the good and noble
people around the world who have donated. I literally choke with
emotion every day and am extremely grateful when I think about
the donations of precious people around the world and Harmony
Fund who have saved my dogs! “
-Sasha Pesic, Founder of Sasha's Free Running Dog Shelter in Serbia

“With all my heart I can say that without Laura Simpson and her founding of Harmony Fund I honestly, honestly would be never able to keep on caring about the 200 street animals here in this Turkish community. I am German and ended up here in Turkey in 2010 for a little time out but from the first day I saw and fed innumerable starving street animals which made it emotionally impossible for me to leave.
For years I tried all on my own to "change the world" and due to this I found myself totally bankrupt by the end of my second year. Devastated I confided in my Canadian friend Chelsea Laroche who encouraged me to not give up. I did not know any animal-people out there, but Chelsea wrote to far over 60 animal advocates across the globe and Laura Simpson at Harmony Fund was the ONLY one who took my huge problems seriously. Without Harmony Fund I would have been forced to leave more than 350 street animals behind without any food.”

“Before Harmony Fund’s help we could
barely help 40 dogs. Now we are caring for 80 of the
neediest/injured dogs in our local area, thanks to the continued
support of Harmony Fund. I belong to the generation which grew
up in one of the toughest times in our country due to wars. I am
a patriot and I love my country despite its hardships as well
its Serbian people but I know that people in my country must
change the way they think of and treat animals. I was a solider
and was honorably discharged after being injured in combat. Our
tabloids portrayed the USA as the bad guy, and I believed it for
a long time but Harmony Fund has changed my thoughts on this. I
now understand that in that far away powerful country there are
people who think about those less fortunate more than themselves
and wish to help. They share what they have with those less
fortunate than them. In this case, my dogs.”

"We are so grateful to Harmony Fund and personally Ms.
Laura Simpson. Harmony fund helped us in the most difficult
times. As Ukraine is torn up by war, we are getting help from
Harmony Fund and I can’t express my feeling about how much the
shelter has improved and how many lives were saved.”
- Tamara Tarnawska, SOS Shelter in Kiev, Ukraine
