My name is Albertine Scray aka Mumzy. I am the founder of The Mumzy
Children Relief Foundation, which is a tax-exempt corporation under
501c3.
I work tirelessly to provide the health support,
education assistance, relief from extreme poverty and disaster, as
well as empowerment of the underdeveloped communities here in USA and
in Africa.
My foundation is under a noble mission to become a
bridge between the extremely poor children (people) and the kind,
generous donators so that we can provide education and decent
lifestyles to those in desperate need.
OUR MISSION/THE PROBLEM THEY FACE
- Our mission is to seek out
and help the world’s poorest amongst the poor. To improve their
well-being, living conditions & empower them to have a successful
school year.
- We fight extreme poverty by providing education
assistance, food and healthy lifestyle, giving them HOPE of a better
future that holds all the possibilities despite the harsh conditions
of their reality.
- Please donate & follow my activities on
social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) or on my website, to get
an insight into a different world. A world where childcare &
education are a privilege, a dream. And this is why:
- 1 - Many
kids are abandoned and susceptible to all kinds of social dangers and
diseases. The high cost of tuition is the main reason why many kids
are not enrolled in schools and this is worse for girls because of
early marriage, sexual harassment, unwanted pregnancies, domestic
instabilities, and certain socio-cultural beliefs & practices.
Most girls are also domestic workers (maids, housekeepers,
babysitters...) and, generally, they are not permitted by their
employers to attend school.
- 2- There are not enough seats in
public school for the number of potential students. I would say not
even enough for 1/3 of students. and since the school are still mostly
sponsored by parents they are very expensive and many people cannot
afford the cost of education for their children. (private schools are
more popular and costly)
- 3- Corruption: The main problem is
the embezzlement of funds. And this problem exist in all levels of the
government. In the case of education, only a few schools have viable
infrastructure like working toilets or access to running water and
maybe only 30% have enough tables and benches for students. School
supplies are never provided by school and libraries are basically
nonexistent.
- 4- There is also the problem of absenteeism of
teachers, poor implementation/enforcement of rules and regulation
which makes education even more difficult.

- So it’s
not easy even for the average middle class citizens to afford sending
their kids to school.
- Now just imagine the fate of a poor
abandoned orphan!! Kids with no parents because of extreme poverty,
diseases, political instabilities, alcoholism, drug abuse, or
emprisonnent... children that are vulnerable with no family and
nowhere to go. Most of them in need of everything: Food, educational
support, love & mental stimulation that all children need to
develop healthy social skills, hope & self-esteem)
WHY IT COULD BE EASY FOR US TO HELP
- It’s heartbreaking to
meet so many children who stay home all year because they cannot
afford to go to school.
- The US dollar is so powerful compare
to Cameroon currency that it doesn’t take too much for us to make a
difference. $1 is equal 500 cfa.
- Did you know that a gift of
- $55 can cover tuition fees of 1 poor child for 1 whole year?
- That $50 can provide yearly school supply?
- And that
it take only about $90 per month for food, shelter, medicine & all
living expenses?
- With $5 per day you can feed a whole family
but still so many people are hungry.
About this Fundraising: School-Year 2018-2019
- To make sure
that our orphans of rural areas of Cameroon have access to education
and enough food, We are starting the school registrations for next
year in July 2018
- Our goal is to pay for the school fees of
125 orphans and to provide food & supplies for the whole year.
- To achieve our goal, we need your help in raising at least
$12,000.
The good news is that we have already raised $2,250.
So, we need an extra $9,750.
