For 9 1/2 yrs Ohana has been in operation. We are a 501c3 non profit. We strive to help as many horses as we can to give them a second chance at life. We rehab, mind body and soul and then give them their ultimate gift...their forever home..

In the past our lives were stable, living in a home on Lake Lindsey for yrs and yrs..then the horrible phone call, the home sold..we had to relocate. We moved to a home that within a month I got deathly ill. After many hospital visits and dr appts and much research, the home was full of mold. Mold that I was deathly allergic too. Relocate again. Entered into a contract to purchase and closing was scheduled for May 29th. Two wks before closing, I get a call to return home ASAP, the home was flooded..Contract was voided out because of the neglect of owners in stating the truth about the house. Relocate again...moved onto a huge piece of property with a house that had sat empty for yrs. House was in shambles, but I did not complain as the property was what was important for the horses..Building started..fencing, stalls, paddocks, and corrals. We were promised a 5 yr lease. All was well, the owner, and I use that lightly, came months later and fixed some electric so most of the house had electricity. The ac did not work properly, and caused such high electric bills of 540 a month, that the electric company came out to make sure nothing illegal was going on at the house. I complained to the owner, nothing. The stove did not work, I complained. My rent when I first moved in was 1000.00 a month, then it went to 1200 a month, then 1718 a month, then 1500 a month. Why you  might ask did I not do anything about it.... I was already here, the horses needed the property, and the owner kept promising that after the modification went through he would give me a lease..In February I kept receiving notices in the mail to..RESIDENT IN POSSESSION OF..I kept sending them back..then it hit me...that was me...I opened the mail, and found that the house was to be sold on the auction block..I immediately contacted owners, they said ITS ALL BEEN TAKEN CARE OF, RELAX..Now last of May, I get served from the sheriff's office that we have to relocate. So here we are again, having to relocate...NOT ONE TIME HAVE WE HAD TO MOVE FOR NON PAYMENT..We are needing a forever home, and to keep in operation we must relocate, but to relocate we need the communities help...All help is appreciated, and we are a 501c3 so able to write tax receipts.
