When it rains, it pours.
We rescued Amber and her nursing puppies from Tijuana in August 2015. The puppies have since been adopted, leaving Amber behind. Not only does Amber not have a foster home, but she was recently diagnosed with TVT, a Canine STD which she will need to receive Chemotherapy for, once a week, for at least 6 weeks. TVT is unfortunately very common for Mexican street dogs and we are getting hit with it not once, but twice.
We have searched high and low for a foster home, but no one is stepping up so we are doing something we have never done before: We are offering to pay a foster. While this is a huge financial burden for us on top of her Chemo, We would rather pay a foster where she can be in a home environment as opposed to boarding.
Amber is about 5 years old and is dog friendly, but needs to be
isolated from dogs while she is going through chemo. She is not cat
friendly and hasn't been tested around children. Amber is VERY sweet
and absolutely loves affection. She is a very mellow dog. 
We rescued Queso in August of 2015 also from the streets of TJ, very pregnant. Like Amber, Queso's babies have found fosters, leaving Queso without a foster home of her own (The foster who had both Amber and Queso moved out of the state). Also like Amber, Queso was just diagnosed with a TVT as well. She has had one round of Chemo and will need 5 more rounds, at least.
Queso was dog friendly prior to having her puppies and with everything she is going through, she is not a fan of dogs at the moment. We are hoping that after she is recovered, she will go back to her dog loving self. Queso loves people and attention and has not been tested around cats or children.
We are in the most desperate time that we have ever experienced in our 5 years since being established. We have saved hundreds of dogs and we now need to be saved ourselves. This situation has disabled the rescue almost completely as we still have lots of other dogs we need to care for. PLEASE, please help us anyway you can. We need everyone to spread the word and help fundraise for their treatments but most importantly, find these 2 foster homes to get them through this difficult time.
