Chanel Cook currently serves as the Public Affairs Officer for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the Erie VA Medical Center. She is responsible for planning and coordinating of all aspects of the Public Affairs and Outreach Programs and using a variety of communication methods to convey the mission and role in the community to Veterans and stakeholders.
Ms. Cook is also an adjunct professor at Mercyhurst University’s Walker College of Business in the Organizational Leadership Program. She currently serves on the boards of the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra and the Perry Square Alliance, and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
Ms. Cook holds a M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst University and a B.A. in Political Science from Gannon University, and a Certificate in Leader Development from the U.S. Army War College. Her career includes over 20 years of experience at the federal and local levels of government and the nonprofit sector.
Chanel is the proud mother of a daughter, Nevaeh, who is a senior at Robert Morris University. Both are foodies who equally enjoy the limitless flavors and aromas of coffee and tea.
